Biography
Robert Grupe is Principal of Grupe Gypsum Consulting, LLC, which he founded in 2011. He brings over 38 years of experience from United States Gypsum Company, where he served as Director of Architectural and Technical Solutions and held various technical and management positions. At USG, he provided leadership to registered architects and engineers specializing in building sciences including fire, acoustics, thermal, moisture, structure, and sustainability. His expertise encompasses gypsum systems, fire resistive assemblies, acoustical performance, cold formed steel framing, ceiling seismic design, and exterior building envelopes. He has authored numerous articles and delivered presentations on fire, sound, and environmental issues related to gypsum systems, providing technical consultation to the architecture, engineering, and construction community. He holds a BSCE in Structural Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.
