Rico Quirindongo

Rico Quirindongo, AIA, has dedicated 30 years to revitalizing and reimagining Seattle's historic landmarks and neighborhoods. Currently serving as Director of the City of Seattle's Office of Planning and Community Development since 2023, he previously held principal and architect roles at DLR Group, where he contributed to major projects including Google Kirkland. Rico served as AIA Seattle President in 2012-13 and chaired the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority Council. A founding member of the National Organization of Minority Architects Northwest Chapter, he sat on the AIA+2030 national steering committee, helping 24 cities meet the 2030 Challenge for carbon-neutral projects. Recognized as a 2020 AIA Citizen Architect and recipient of the 2022 Jennie Sue Brown Lifetime Achievement Award, Rico remains committed to advancing social change through authentic community engagement and cross-sector collaboration in civic design.
