
Phil Bernstein

Biography
Phil Bernstein is an architect, technologist, and educator serving as Deputy Dean and Professor in the Practice at the Yale University School of Architecture, where he has taught for over 36 years. Before his current role, he spent 16 years as Vice President of Strategic Industry Relations at Autodesk, where he developed the strategy to bring Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to the global building industry. Earlier in his career, he was a principal at Cesar Pelli & Associates. Bernstein also serves as General Partner at Bulldog Innovation Group, a Yale alumni seed-stage venture fund, and maintains an independent consulting practice focused on strategy and technology for the building industry. He lectures, writes, and consults extensively on design practice, technology, and project delivery. He holds a B.A. and M.Arch from Yale University, where he graduated magna cum laude with distinction in architecture.
