Biography
Paul Finch is Programme Director of the World Architecture Festival, a role he has held since the festival's founding in 2008. One of the most influential voices in architectural media and criticism, he served as editor of three of the UK's most prominent architecture publications — Building Design, the Architects' Journal, and the Architectural Review — and is co-editor of Planning in London. Beyond journalism, Finch has played a significant role in shaping the built environment through public service, serving as Chair of the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and as Deputy Chair of the Design Council, two of the UK's foremost bodies for promoting design quality in public life. His career spans decades of engagement with architecture, urbanism, and design policy at the highest levels, bridging the worlds of professional practice, critical commentary, and civic leadership. Finch holds a Master of Arts in History from Selwyn College, Cambridge.
