Biography
Dr. Mitchell Joachim is Co-Founder of Terreform ONE and Professor of Practice at NYU, where he has taught architecture and urban design for nearly sixteen years. He previously worked at the offices of Frank Gehry and I.M. Pei. His pioneering work in biotech architecture and ecological design has earned recognition from Wired's 'Smart List' and Rolling Stone's '100 People Who Are Changing America.' His awards include Fast Company Design of the Year, AIA New York Urban Design Merit Award, and Time magazine's Best Invention with MIT Smart Cities Car. He has co-authored four books on biotech architecture and resilient cities, and his work has been exhibited at MoMA and the Venice Biennale. Dr. Joachim holds a PhD from MIT, MAUD from Harvard, and MArch from Columbia.
