Biography
ulie Ju-Youn Kim, FAIA is the William H. Harrison Professor and Chair of the School of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she founded and directs the Flourishing Communities Collaborative. She is also founder and principal of c2architecture studio, a 100% woman-owned firm. Elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2025, Kim has received the 2024 AIAS Educator Impact Honor Award, 2023 AIA Georgia Educator of the Year, and 2023 ACSA Collaborative Practice Award. Her research employs data-driven methods to address social and cultural challenges in the built environment, supported by grants from the New Venture Fund and Partnership for Inclusive Innovation. Kim's professional work has earned an AIA National Honor Award, AIA/DC Unbuilt Award, and SARA Design Award. She is editor and author of Interdisciplinary Design Thinking in Architecture Education and holds degrees from Wellesley College and MIT
