
Jason Schupbach

Biography
Jason Schupbach is President Elect at the Fashion Institute of Technology, a role he assumed in 2025. He currently serves as Dean of Drexel University's Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, a position he has held since 2020. Previously, Schupbach directed The Design School at Arizona State University and served as Director of Design and Creative Placemaking Programs at the National Endowment for the Arts, where he established the Our Town grant program, distributing $30 million across all 50 states. He led numerous federal design initiatives including the Mayors' Institute on City Design and co-created the Social Impact Design Summit with Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. Schupbach authored How to do Creative Placemaking and originated the Play Everywhere Challenge. His work focuses on the intersection of design, creative placemaking, urban planning, and social impact.
