Gordon Beckman

Gordon Beckman, AIA, has built a distinguished career working nationally and internationally on commercial, civic, transportation, and mixed-use developments. His work examines the interdisciplinary connections that structure, technology, environmental concerns, and transparency play in next-generation architectural thought. Since joining John Portman & Associates in 2007, Beckman has applied these values to the firm's projects. Previously, he spent 23 years at Murphy/Jahn as Senior Vice President/Principal Architect, leading recognized projects including Charlemagne in Brussels, Serono Corporate Headquarters in Geneva, Bishopgate Town in London, and HALO Corporate Headquarters in Illinois. Beckman has taught at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Illinois Institute of Technology, participated in design reviews and juries at several universities, and has been honored with the AIA Henry Adams Medal.
