Biography
Evelyn Lee is Founder of Practice of Architecture and currently serves as the 2025 President of the American Institute of Architects. After nearly two decades in architecture, Lee pivoted to focus on the business of architecture, combining her architectural expertise with an MBA and MPA to help firms build financial resilience and embrace innovation. She serves as a fractional COO for architecture firms and startups, strategic advisor to founders reimagining practice models, and angel investor in companies innovating the built environment. Lee is also a Foundational Advisor for Women Defining AI and host of the Practice Disrupted podcast. Through her work, she champions business literacy, leadership development, and new models of practice to help architects thrive in today's evolving landscape. As Principal of EL Design Strategy and a recurring columnist for Contract Magazine, Lee has authored over 750 articles on sustainability, design, and the built environment.
