Biography
Erin Peavy is a Principal and Senior Vice President at HKS, where she leads the firm's global design strategy for health and well-being across its Community sector. A licensed architect and design researcher, her work sits at the intersection of environmental psychology, public health, and the built environment, exploring how spatial conditions shape social connection, well-being, and everyday human experience. Peavy serves as an Industry Scholar with Cornell University's Institute for Healthy Futures and sits on the Advisory Board of the Health Environments Research & Design Journal (HERD). She co-led the Foundation for Social Connection's 2024 report on the built environment and writes the 'Designed for Happiness' column for Psychology Today. She also hosts the podcast Shared Space, which explores how environments shape social connection and behavior. Her research and writing have been featured in The New York Times, BBC Radio 4, National Geographic, and other outlets. She holds a Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Health Systems & Design and a Bachelor of Environmental Design with a minor in Psychology, both from Texas A&M University.
