
Chikara Inamura

Biography
Chikara Inamura is Director of Digital Technology at CO Architects, where he leads the firm's digital transformation through emerging technologies including generative AI, computational design, data analytics, and digital twin integration. With over 18 years of experience at the intersection of design, engineering, and research, Inamura previously served as Project Lead and Research Specialist at the MIT Media Lab's Mediated Matter Group, where he led the development of one of the world's first additive manufacturing technologies for optically transparent glass, earning multiple U.S. patents. Before MIT, he worked as a structural engineer at Sasaki and Partners in Tokyo on projects for SANAA and Toyo Ito, and spent five years as a Project Architect and Lead Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects in London, contributing to award-winning projects including Galaxy Soho and Dubai Financial Center. He also served on the graduate school faculty at the Architectural Association. A recipient of the U.S. EB-1A visa for extraordinary ability, his work has been exhibited at MoMA, the Smithsonian, and the Triennale di Milano. He holds a Master of Science in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT and a Bachelor of Architecture from SCI-Arc.
